Bobby Flores has just released his new album entitled "Neon Nights". It is another superb collection of classic country music featuring Bobby's great fiddle, guitar, and vocal work. The album was mastered by Tommy Detamore at Cherry Ridge.
Pauline Reese has begun her fourth Cherry Ridge album project that showcases more of her great material. Her last album, "Too Texas-Live at Cherry Ridge", received the Album Of The Year award at the recent Texas Music Awards. Congratulations to Pauline and her fine band!
Chris Pfeiffer has begun a new project at Cherry Ridge that will contain more of his compelling compositions. Featured on the recording will be the awesome talents of multi-instrumentalists Dana Clark and Kevin Lewis.

Country singer-songwriter Brad Clark has started work on his debut album at Cherry Ridge. Brad was in recently to cut three sides, with more to follow. Stay tuned for more news from this talented artist!
Sweden's own Bo Svennson has recently recorded his third Cherry Ridge album. It was produced by Bo and Tommy Detamore and as is usual for Bo, will be released in two versions, one in Swedish, and one in English.
Rodney Hayden has released his new album "Down The Road" on Palomino Records. The album, recorded at Cherry Ridge in January and produced by Rodney and Tommy Detamore, has already received some great reviews. The album features musicians Bill Whitbeck and Tom Van Schaik of the Robert Earl Keen band. Also appearing is long-time Cherry Ridge friend and favorite John Carroll on guitar.
Donnie Hons recorded a demo of his song "Simple Reflections" at Cherry Ridge recently. The song was done in two versions, one featuring the beautiful voice of Donnie's niece Angie, with the other version of the song being sung by south Texas legend Joel Nava.
Vickie Cross visited Cherry Ridge recently to record a new version of the Bobby Vinton classic "I Love How You Love Me". The single was produced by Tommy Detamore and was done in a country style with lots of steel guitar and fiddle.
Sisters Morales were in Cherry Ridge recently to record some overdubs for their upcoming album release. The project is being produced by the legendary Steve Berlin of Los Lobos fame.
Pauline Reese has garnered several nominations for the upcoming Texas Music Awards. She has been nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year & Entertainer of the Year, and her latest album, "Too Texas-Live at Cherry Ridge", has been nominated for Album of the Year. And last but not least, husband John Burris is up for Producer of the Year. The awards ceremony will take place on March 24, 2007 in Linden, Texas at the Music City Texas Theater. Tommy Santos just recorded a new single "Who's Forever Do You Mean?" at Cherry Ridge. The recording features bassist Cody Scherer and drummer Scott Muennink of the Buster Jiggs band, and Catlin Rutherford on guitar. Tommy is a talented singer-songwriter, and this song is destined to be released on Texas radio in the very near future.
Austin songbird Tracie Lynn was at Cherry Ridge recently to record a Christmas tribute to our troops. The song is entitled "Peace At Home Tonight", and it was written by Tracie and Nathan Clakley.
Sunny Sweeney recently signed a deal with Nashville-based Big Machine Records. Founded in late 2005 by promotion veteran Scott Borchetta, the label has charted three Top 10 (including a Number One) and five Top 25 singles since its inception just over one year ago. "I'm so excited to be working with Scott Borchetta and Big Machine," Sweeney says with an effervescent twang. "It's nice to finally find a label and a team who are willing to support and invest in REAL country music!" Borchetta, too, is enthusiastic about the partnership. "We're thrilled to enter into this licensing agreement with Sunny," he notes with a grin. "I just love her record and her personality. She's a firecracker getting ready to bust out of the southwest. This is going to be a blast." Rounding out Sweeney's team are music business veteran John Lomax III (Kinetic Management) Steve Hoiberg (Third Coast Artists Agency, Inc.), and Americana radio promoter Leslie Rouffe (Songlines). The album, "Heartbreaker's Hall of Fame", was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Cherry Ridge, and was produced by Tommy Detamore and Tom Lewis and will be re-released nationally in March 2007.

Tommy Detamore has been picked to mix and master a live album by Darryl Lee Rush that was recorded at the River Road Ice House in New Braunfels, Texas. Darryl Lee is the debut artist on Shiner Records, a co venture with Shiner Beer, Joshua Jones of KHYI radio and Palo Duro Records. "Darryl Lee Rush is the next big thing to come out of Texas" says Texas Music icon Jack Ingram. Stay tuned!

Singer-songwriter Chris Pfeiffer has returned to Cherry Ridge to begin recording a new album. This is his second Cherry Ridge project, and it will feature a whole new collection of Chris' inspiring original material.
Our good friends at The Sacred Heart School in Floresville, Texas will hold a Music Fest on Saturday, April 29, from 3pm-12 a.m. under the pavilion on the church grounds. Headlining the event for the daytime activities will be the great contemporary Christian band Joshua. Other entertainment will include the Floresville High School Mariachi Band, the Victoria Polka Dancers, Raisin' Kane, and classical pianist Manahara Virasinha. There will be fun for the entire family -- a jumping castle for the kids, a chess challenge presented by the Floresville Chess Club, a washer-toss tournament, face painting, concessions, fun merchandise, and prizes.
As the daytime events come to a close, the night-time fun begins with The Bobby Flores Band from 8 p.m. to midnight, providing traditional country music that is perfect for dancing to! Tickets are $7 presale (through 7 p.m. at the gate April 29) or $10 at the gate. Children 12 and under are free of charge. All proceeds benefit Sacred Heart Catholic School in Floresville. Tommy Detamore has just finished mastering seven of the very earliest recordings of George Strait and the Ace in the Hole Band. No word yet on when these recordings will be made available for sale, but as soon as they are, we will let you know!
Pauline Reese and her band have just completed a new album at Cherry Ridge. The album includes some remakes of tunes from her first two Cherry Ridge albums, along with some great new original songs. The CD features band members John Fannin, Jason Bryl, and Beau Johnson, and is scheduled for immediate release. The project was produced by John Burris for Paradora Records.
Gary Stephen Taylor was in Cherry Ridge recently to put the finishing touches on his album. Gary hails from Tommy Detamore's hometown of Charlottesville, Virginia. Gary brought in tracks that he had recorded at several studios there for additional overdubs, mixing and mastering.
Reid Wells has begun a new album at Cherry Ridge. Included on the session were his brother Carson on steel guitar, drummer Jim Loessberg, and piano legend Floyd Domino. The album is being produced by Bobby Flores and is sure to be well received among traditional country and western swing fans.
Recently there was a show on the Travel Channel called "Destination Texas". Included in the show was a short segment about SXSW ("South by Southwest"), the annual mega-music conference held in Austin in March. Jamie was at #9 with "Last Call" (18,289 spins), and Jason was at #16 for "John Boat Blues" (15,199 spins) and #27 for "Must Have Been Meant to Be" (12.291 spins). Also included in the list is Kevin Fowler, whose single “Hard Man to Love ” was #3 for 2005 with 22,637 spins. Kevin also claimed the #31 spot with "Don't Touch My Willie" (11,486 spins), written by another Cherry Ridge client, Bobby Pounds. The contemporary Christian rock band Joshua recently recorded seven demo songs at Cherry Ridge. This fine young band was formed by singer Jeff Mitchell, who once upon a time played drums for Texas Music artist Rodney Hayden. Jeff had his life changed forever when his brother Joshua was killed in an automobile accident last year. Jeff named the band after his late brother, and dedicates the band's music to his memory. Texas honky-tonk singer-songwriter Dave Jorgenson has released his new CD entitled "We Have a Winner". The CD was produced by Dave and Tommy Detamore and contains all original compositions. It is definitely "country with an edge", and it pays homage to the stylings of Waylon Jennings, George Jones, Merle Haggard, George Strait, and other country music pioneers. But this record is all Dave thru and thru, and it is destined to rock Texas radio like never before!
Honky-tonk heartthrob Sunny Sweeney has completed her debut album at Cherry Ridge. The album features several of Sunny's own songs, as well as her bandmates Lars Albrecht on guitar and Tom Lewis on drums. Special guest appearances were made by the" King of Cool", Jim Lauderdale, B3 organmeister Skip Edwards, and Eddie Perez, guitarist extraordinaire for Dwight Yoakum. The album was produced by Lewis and Tommy Detamore, and is scheduled for an early spring release.
Bobby Flores had released another album entitled "Too Many Rivers". This CD features more of the traditional country and western swing that has won Bobby fans the world over. The album was partially recorded at Cherry Ridge and features Bobby's impeccable vocal and instrumental talents.
The contemporary Christian rock band Youthfire has released their new album entitled "You Gave All". Scottish-born singer Sam Cameron leads this talented group of musicians and vocalists. Sam serves as a youth minister at Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas.
Lealean Peace recently recorded some demos at Cherry Ridge that showcase his fine singing and songwriting talents. Lealean is an award-winning songwriter, and coordinator of the annual Texas Songwriting Cruise. The first-ever cruise took place this past October, and was a great success. Lots of industry pros were in attendance conducting seminars and workshops dealing with all facets of the music business. Cherry Ridge Studio was proud to be a sponsor of this fantastic event. Clear Lake,Texas resident Galen Medlenka recently made his third trip to Cherry Ridge to record more of his original material. Galen has also been doing some recording at the studio of his long-time friend, ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons.

Sweden's own Bo Svennson has released another Cherry Ridge album called "On the Beat". It was produced by Bo and Tommy Detamore and features the usual cast of Cherry Ridge characters. There are actually two versions of this release, one in Swedish, and one in English. Bo is a fine artist with a great sense of humor. Check out the liner notes!

Producer Eric Jarvis of Crushpad Productions visited Cherry Ridge recently to overdub some tracks for the upcoming Bobby Earthman album "Mystic Cowboy". Steel guitarist Tommy Detamore and accordian wizard Joel Guzman added parts to the existing tracks that Eric and Bobby had recorded in Houston, Texas.
Montana's own Stephanie Davis proudly presents her new album “Home For The Holidays”. Her charming, refreshing vocals, combined with the masterful touches of Texas’ finest musicians, make for a rich and soulful musical experience. Co-producer Bobby Flores and veteran engineer Bobby Arnold (Neil Young, Doug Sahm, Willie Nelson) offer their incredible talents, and the inimitable Ray Price makes a guest appearance on Stephanie’s own destined-to-be-a-classic, “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” Stephanie also offers up a beautiful rendition of her song “The Gift”, which has been recorded by Garth Brooks and others, and is becoming a standard at church and school holiday programs around the globe. The CD was mixed and mastered by Tommy Detamore at Cherry Ridge.

Texas piano man Keith Magel has released an album recorded at Cherry Ridge entitled "My Story". This rockin’ record features Keith’s vocal and piano skills and original material, as well as the fiery guitar work of bluesman Ben McKinney. As good as this record is, you must see Keith perform live! Look for him in your area..... And fasten your seat belt!
Houston’s own Mando Saenz has just re-released his album “Watertown” on Frank Liddell’s Carnival Records label. The album, recorded at Cherry Ridge and produced by John Egan, features Mando’s excellent songwriting imagery and emotional singing style. This young man is destined for greatness! The album has already broke into the Top 30 on the Americana Music Chart! Listen to some samples from this fine CD.
Folk legend James Talley recently returned to Cherry Ridge to mix another record from material recorded live in Italy in 2002. The first album, “Journey”, was released in 2004 to great reviews. This new record will feature fiddle work by Bobby Flores and steel guitar playing by Tommy Detamore. Unlike most live records, this one will contain several previously unreleased original compositions by James. Look for this album to be released sometime in 2005.
Abilene’s own Kina Lankford has just released her debut album “Copenhagen Kisses”. The album was produced by Tommy Detamore and was recorded at Cherry Ridge in August of 2004. Kina is a fabulous singer/songwriter who teamed up with the great Aaron Watson to co-write several of the songs on this CD. Dallas-based singer/songwriter Rivers has recorded five songs at Cherry Ridge for his upcoming album. Rivers plays regularly in the Metroplex area, and has built a steady following of fans. The tracks are mostly River’s compositions, and were produced by Tommy Detamore. Rivers is an exceptional talent and an all-around genuine nice guy! (listen)
Americana artist Michael Waid has recently completed his new album at Cherry Ridge. Michael had some tracks that were originally recorded at another studio, which he had augmented with some additional parts recorded at his home studio. He brought everything he had accumulated into Cherry Ridge for some additional recording, final mixing and mastering. The result is one fine showcase of his creative songwriting and arranging skills, as well as his distinctive singing style. Michael’s debut album, “I’ve Been Around”, charted nationally on Americana’s Top 40.
The mother and daughter duo of Glenda Raye and Jana Fox have begun a new album of gospel and Christian favorites at Cherry Ridge. The project, produced by Bobby Flores, is scheduled to be released sometime in the first half of 2005. This dynamic singing duo will proceed with the recording as their busy ministry schedules allow, so stay tuned! It is guaranteed to be worth the wait!
Country singer/songwriter Dana Allen has begun his new album of original material at Cherry Ridge. This Waco, TX-based artist is a refreshing departure from the norm in today’s country music. His vocal style is steeped in the tradition of the likes of George Jones and Vern Gosdin.
Palo Duro Records recording artists 1100 Springs are doing quite well with their new album entitled “Bandwagon”. Eight tracks on this CD were done at Cherry Ridge and were produced by Tommy Detamore and the band. The new single is a great rendition of the Mickey Newbury classic, “Why You Been Gone So Long”. The single is in the Top 5 of the Texas Music Chart and in the Top 20 of the Americana Music Association Chart. The tune also hit the #1 spot on XM Satellite Radio’s X-Country Chart! The song features a guest vocal from the late Ronnie Dawson, gleaned from a late-night jam session recorded on a cassette recorder in 1990. Jason Allen’s new single, “My Heart Turned Left”, was #1 on the Texas Music Chart for two weeks in a row! It has since held down the number two spot for three consecutive weeks, behind Kevin Fowler's huge hit "I Ain't Drinkin' Anymore". Jason's new album, “Wouldn’t it Be Nice”, produced by Tommy Detamore and recorded in September of 2003 at Cherry Ridge Studio, is receiving some great press. Jason’s first album, “Something I Dreamed”, also recorded at Cherry Ridge, spawned a #1 hit single on the Texas Chart, “Lucky Arms”. This song was also voted #3 Overall for 2003!!! Jamie Richards, another talented D Records artist, has just released his new album entitled “Between These Lines”. The album was recorded at Cherry Ridge on November 2004, and was produced by Walt Wilkins and Tommy Detamore. His new single, “Wasted”, has been in the Top 10 for several weeks.. Pauline Reese recorded her second Cherry Ridge album this past spring for Paradora Records, and it has just been released. The current single, “One Less Honky Tonk”, is currently #15 on the Texas Music Chart.. The album entitled “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly”, produced by Pauline and Tommy Detamore, is the follow-up to the well received “Trail to Monterrey” album of 2002, produced by Clay Blaker. The new album features some of Pauline’s excellent original songs, including a duet with Willie Nelson. Dane Sterling, a terrific singer-songwriter from Austin, Texas, is putting the finishing touches on a new album at Cherry Ridge. The record was produced by Dane and Tommy Detamore and will be released in the near future. An advance copy found its way to the legendary Johnny Bush , who immediately called the studio to say “This is the best new record I have heard in many, many years! This guy (Dane) is a great singer with his own unique style. He doesn’t sound like he’s trying to copy anyone else. And the production and sound of the record and fantastic!” Thanks, Johnny!
Cherry Ridge clients Christine Mims and Bobby Flores each took home an award at the Academy of Western Artists 2004 Will Rogers Awards Show that was held the week of July 12th in Ft. Worth, Texas. Christine won the Western Swing Female Artist of the Year award, while
Bobby received the Western Swing Instrumentalist of the Year honor. Congratulations to these fine artists and wonderful people! (Christine and Bobby‘s albums are available at Yellow Rose Records).

Bobby Pounds has begun an album of original material at Cherry Ridge. Bobby has written a ton of great songs for other artists and is now finally getting to make his own record. Long overdue, and eagerly anticipated by many.
Wes Hayden, another young rising-star singer-songwriter, has also started an album at Cherry Ridge. Born in Houston and raised in East Texas, Wes is COUNTRY to the bone and proud of it! Wes now makes his home in Austin, Texas and plays dates with his band in the area.
The Almost Patsy Cline Band is currently in the studio finishing up their band album to be released shortly. Band members Lanette Pennell, Vicki Gillespie, Dave Kemp, and Rick Reynolds have a remarkable vocal blend, and this album features that prominently.
Country rocker Jarrod Birmingham was recently in Cherry Ridge to record a new single for radio release. The song is a remake of “Whiskey and Lies” (listen) off of his first album, and will be released to radio shortly.
